PRINCE GEORGE – The 2020 State of the North Economic Report released today features industry overviews, updates on major projects and economic analysis on Northern B.C.’s four regions.

Northern Development Initiative Trust announces that $213,672 has been approved to benefit nine Peace Region agricultural projects through the BC Hydro Peace Agricultural Compensation Fund (PACF).

Northern Development approves $1.25 million for four projects through its Strategic Initiatives Fund – including $850,000 for the City of Quesnel’s waterfront development project.

October 29 The BC Hydro Peace Agricultural Compensation Fund is a $20 million fund established by BC Hydro to support agricultural production and related economic activity in the Peace Region. This fund is governed by a regional decision-making board, responsible for overseeing the management and disbursement of the fund. They are seeking one member-at-large to serve on the board. Northern Development officially launches Trust 2020, introducing a new suite of Community Development programs, a new website and online application system.

PRINCE GEORGE, B.C. – Northern Development announced today that it has approved funding for six projects totalling $919,643 throughout central and northern B.C. At their July 22 meeting, the Trust’s board of directors approved the following through the Economic Diversification Infrastructure program: $15,000 was approved for the District of Mackenzie to develop a 200-metre switchback multi-use trail from the current campground parking lot of the Mackenzie Community Campsite to Morfee Lake Public Beach.
