Kitimat Officially Opens Multi-Use Recreation Facility

On April 4th, the District of Kitimat held the grand opening of the Sam Lindsay Aquatic Centre. This major infrastructure project has been supported by Northern Development with a $1.65 million zero interest loan and a $30,000 grant via the Community Halls and Recreation Facilities funding program. The major renovation of the pool cost close to $15 million. Enterprising Non-Profits (ENP) has announced upcoming orientation sessions in March and April 2009 in Quesnel, Bella Coola, Kitimat, Burns Lake, and Vanderhoof.  ENP is a funding program that provides matching grants to non-profit organizations in BC that are planning for the start or expansion of a social enterprise business. Over $1.5 Million Invested In New Community Projects and Manufacturing Expansions

Prince George, BC – Northern Development Initiative Trust’s Board of Directors met on March 18th and are pleased to announce that a total of 44 new projects were approved for funding totalling $1,558,560 on a total project value of over $11.5 Million into the economy.
