Government of Canada and Northern Development Invest in Northeast Livestock Industry

Dawson Creek, BC – The Dawson Creek Exhibition Association plans to rebuild the Northeast Regional Auction Mart with funding support from the Northern Development Initiative Trust and the Government of Canada’s Community Adjustment Fund.   The auction facility, which started operation in 1957 and services the whole northeast region of British Columbia, was destroyed by fire in 2004.  The rebuilding project will provide a key agricultural service to ranchers in northeast BC.
