Northern Development – Partnering with Local Governments and Towns for Tomorrow

PRINCE GEORGE, BC – The Board of Directors of the Northern Development Initiative Trust are pleased to announce Northern Development as a local government funding partner for eligible Towns for Tomorrow projects.

On October 14th, the Province of British Columbia opened the 2010/2011 application intake for Towns for Tomorrow funding, a program that provides municipalities and regional districts with capital funding for healthy living, sustainable environmental management, and job creation projects.

Northern Development can financially partner with municipalities and regional districts with grants and loans for projects that are eligible under Northern Development’s funding programs.

Towns for Tomorrow notes a number of eligible project categories in its program guide. The following are generally areas that would be categories aligned with Northern Development’s funding programs:

Environmental Energy Improvement Projects
Municipalities and regional districts should review Northern Development’s Economic Diversification Infrastructure program as a potential source of partnered financial support for projects that project increased revenues over five years and creation of permanent employment in communities.

Cultural Projects
