The Connecting British Columbia program is currently accepting applications for Phase Three of the program. Funds are available to help internet service providers and regional and local governments connect people in rural and Indigenous communities with high-speed internet.
Connecting British Columbia program Phase 3 – Funding Intake in Support of COVID-19 Response
The Connecting British Columbia program has a short-term opening for funding applications that can be implemented immediately to upgrade networks and expand rural connectivity bandwidth and coverage where needed. Proposals will be evaluated as received with an expedited turnaround time for funding approvals.
This funding is for last-mile projects to ensure that infrastructure investments are, to the extent possible, coordinated, scalable, provide value for money and achieve priority objectives for the region.
Transport Infrastructure Funding
This funding is for new infrastructure projects, upgrades to existing infrastructure or expanding existing transport infrastructure to ensure that these investments are, to the extent possible, coordinated, scalable, provide value for money and achieve priority objectives for the region.
The program will invite applications for funding through successive intakes until funds are exhausted. The dates below are the deadlines for the next funding review periods.
Intake One: Closed
Formal decisions issued by March 27, 2020
Intake Two: June 15, 2020
Formal decisions issued by July 31, 2020
