LEVERAGING THE UNIVERSAL BROADBAND FUND

This program is no longer accepting applications.

The Connecting British Columbia program provided provincial funding for applicants seeking to leverage funding through the federal Universal Broadband Fund (UBF). Two intakes for provincial funding were developed to minimize duplication in the application process and allow applicants to use their UBF application for most of the documentation required to support their Connecting British Columbia funding request.

These Connecting British Columbia program intakes aligned with the Universal Broadband Fund’s Rapid Response stream and Core funding stream for multi year projects

CORE INTAKE

  • This intake is designed to leverage the main Universal Broadband Fund stream.
  • Co-funded projects must be completed by March 31, 2022.
  •  Applications will be accepted until March 15, 2021.
  • Projects can be co-funded funded to a maximum of 90% of eligible costs. The provincial contribution can be up to 50% share of eligible project costs.
  • Mobile and satellite infrastructure related costs eligible under the UBF are not eligible costs under this intake of the Connecting British Columbia program.

SUPPLEMENTARY APPLICATION MATERIALS

When applying for Connecting British Columbia program, a copy of the UBF application form is required along with supplementary application materials that are specific to the provincial program.
