  • $149 million in Trust funding and $86.1 million in third-party funding has been approved for 3,738 projects since 2005.
  • $14.5 million has been approved for 426 First Nations projects since 2005.
  • $47.4 million has been approved for 1,013 projects led by non-profit organizations since 2005.
  • $31.3 million has been approved for projects to help communities recover from the Mountain Pine Beetle epidemic since 2005.
  • $204.7 million in funding from other funding agencies has been accessed by community grant writers, since 2010.
  • 90 internship placements since the inception of the Local Government Internship program.

  • In 2019, the Trust has approved $12.0 million in Trust funding and $19.3 million in third-party funding for 514 projects.
  • $1.7 million has been approved for 51 First Nations projects in 2019.
  • $3.5 million has been approved in Trust funding and $0.6 million in third-party funding for 178 projects led by non-profit organizations in 2019.

Northern Development’s board had approved 3,738 projects as of December 31, 2019 across the four development regions. These projects are listed by year and are reported in annual approved project reports.

Please note that Northern Development’s board is continually monitoring the economic impacts of Northern Development’s funding investments and program policies.  As a result, funding programs evolve over time to meet the needs of communities while ensuring a sustainable flow of funding is available to the region over the long term.  The following historical reports include projects that were approved prior to the board establishing its current policy framework.
